13 Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and the Lord said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess. 2 This is the land that yet remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all those of the Geshurites 3 (from the Shihor, which is east of Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron, it is counted as Canaanite; there are five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron), and those of the Avvim, 4 in the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the boundary of the Amorites, 5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo-hamath, 6 all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I myself will drive them out from before the people of Israel. Only allot the land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have commanded you. 7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.”
The Inheritance East of the Jordan
8 With the other half of the tribe of Manasseh[a] the Reubenites and the Gadites received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, as Moses the servant of the Lord gave them: 9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland of Medeba as far as Dibon; 10 and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, as far as the boundary of the Ammonites; 11 and Gilead, and the region of the Geshurites and Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salecah; 12 all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei (he alone was left of the remnant of the Rephaim); these Moses had struck and driven out. 13 Yet the people of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the Maacathites, but Geshur and Maacath dwell in the midst of Israel to this day.
14 To the tribe of Levi alone Moses gave no inheritance. The offerings by fire to the Lord God of Israel are their inheritance, as he said to him.
15 And Moses gave an inheritance to the tribe of the people of Reuben according to their clans. 16 So their territory was from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the valley, and all the tableland by Medeba; 17 with Heshbon, and all its cities that are in the tableland; Dibon, and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon, 18 and Jahaz, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath, 19 and Kiriathaim, and Sibmah, and Zereth-shahar on the hill of the valley, 20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth, 21 that is, all the cities of the tableland, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses defeated with the leaders of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, who lived in the land. 22 Balaam also, the son of Beor, the one who practiced divination, was killed with the sword by the people of Israel among the rest of their slain. 23 And the border of the people of Reuben was the Jordan as a boundary. This was the inheritance of the people of Reuben, according to their clans with their cities and villages.
24 Moses gave an inheritance also to the tribe of Gad, to the people of Gad, according to their clans. 25 Their territory was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the Ammonites, to Aroer, which is east of Rabbah, 26 and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the territory of Debir,[b] 27 and in the valley Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, having the Jordan as a boundary, to the lower end of the Sea of Chinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan. 28 This is the inheritance of the people of Gad according to their clans, with their cities and villages.
29 And Moses gave an inheritance to the half-tribe of Manasseh. It was allotted to the half-tribe of the people of Manasseh according to their clans. 30 Their region extended from Mahanaim, through all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities, 31 and half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan. These were allotted to the people of Machir the son of Manasseh for the half of the people of Machir according to their clans.
32 These are the inheritances that Moses distributed in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan east of Jericho. 33 But to the tribe of Levi Moses gave no inheritance; the Lord God of Israel is their inheritance, just as he said to them.

Entonces se sentó y se puso a enseñarles. 3.Los escribas y fariseos le llevan una mujer sorprendida en adulterio, la ponen en medio 4.y le dicen: «Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en flagrante adulterio. 5.Moisés nos mandó en la Ley apedrear a estas mujeres. ¿Tú qué dices?» 6.Esto lo decían para tentarle, para tener de qué acuasarle. Pero Jesús, inclinándose, se puso a escribir con el dedo en la tierra. 7.Pero, como ellos insistían en preguntarle, se incorporó y les dijo: «Aquel de vosotros que esté sin pecado, que le arroje la primera piedra.» 8.E inclinándose de nuevo, escribía en la tierra. 9.Ellos, al oír estas palabras, se iban retirando uno tras otro, comenzando por los más viejos; y se quedó solo Jesús con la mujer, que seguía en medio. 10.Incorporándose Jesús le dijo: «Mujer, ¿dónde están? ¿Nadie te ha condenado?» 11.Ella respondió: «Nadie, Señor.» Jesús le dijo: «Tampoco yo te condeno. Vete, y en adelante no peques más.» 12.Jesús les habló otra vez diciendo: «Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me siga no caminará en la oscuridad, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.» 13.Los fariseos le dijeron: «Tú das testimonio de ti mismo: tu testimonio no vale.» 14.Jesús les respondió: «Aunque yo dé testimonio de mí mismo, mi testimonio vale, porque sé de dónde he venido y a dónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo ni a dónde voy. 15.Vosotros juzgáis según la carne; yo no juzgo a nadie; 16.y si juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero, porque no estoy yo solo, sino yo y el que me ha enviado. 17.Y en vuestra Ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos personas es válido. 18.Yo soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo y también el que me ha enviado, el Padre, da testimonio de mí.» 19.Entonces le decían: «¿Dónde está tu Padre?» Respondió Jesús: «No me conocéis ni a mí ni a mi Padre; si me conocierais a mí, conoceríais también a mi Padre.» 20.Estas palabras las pronunció en el Tesoro, mientras enseñaba en el Templo. Y nadie le prendió, porque aún no había llegado su hora. 21.Jesús les dijo otra vez: «Yo me voy y vosotros me buscaréis, y moriréis en vuestro pecado. Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir.» 22.Los judíos se decían: «¿Es que se va a suicidar, pues dice: "Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir?» 23.El les decía: «Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba. Vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo. 24.Ya os he dicho que moriréis en vuestros pecados, porque si no creéis que Yo Soy, moriréis en vuestros pecados.» 25.Entonces le decían: «¿Quién eres tú?» Jesús les respondió: «Desde el principio, lo que os estoy diciendo. 26.Mucho podría hablar de vosotros y juzgar pero el que me ha enviado es veraz, y lo que le he oído a él es lo que hablo al mundo.» 27.No comprendieron que les hablaba del Padre. 28.Les dijo, pues, Jesús: «Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del hombre, entonces sabréis que Yo Soy, y que no hago nada por mi propia cuenta; sino que, lo que el Padre me ha enseñado, eso es lo que hablo. 29.Y el que me ha enviado está conmigo: no me ha dejado solo, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada a él.» 30.Al hablar así, muchos creyeron en él. 31.Decía, pues, Jesús a los judíos que habían creído en él: «Si os mantenéis en mi Palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos, 32.y conoceréis la verdad y la verdad os hará libres.» 33.Ellos le respondieron: «Nosotros somos descendencia de Abraham y nunca hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Cómo dices tú: Os haréis libres?» 34.Jesús les respondió: «En verdad, en verdad os digo: todo el que comete pecado es un esclavo. 35.Y el esclavo no se queda en casa para siempre; mientras el hijo se queda para siempre. 36.Si, pues, el Hijo os da la libertad, seréis realmente libres. 37.Ya sé que sois descendencia de Abraham; pero tratáis de matarme, porque mi Palabra no prende en vosotros. 38.Yo hablo lo que he visto donde mi Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído donde vuestro padre.» 39.Ellos le respondieron: «Nuestro padre es Abraham.» Jesús les dice: «Si sois hijos de Abraham, haced las obras de Abraham. 40.Pero tratáis de matarme, a mí que os he dicho la verdad que oí de Dios. Eso no lo hizo Abraham. 41.Vosotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre.» Ellos le dijeron: «Nosotros no hemos nacido de la prostitución; no tenemos más padre que a Dios.» 42.Jesús les respondió: «Si Dios fuera vuestro Padre, me amaríais a mí, porque yo he salido y vengo de Dios; no he venido por mi cuenta, sino que él me ha enviado. 43.¿Por qué no reconocéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis escuchar mi Palabra. 44.Vosotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo y queréis cumplir los deseos de vuestro padre. Este era homicida desde el principio, y no se mantuvo en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él; cuando dice la mentira, dice lo que le sale de dentro, porque es mentiroso y padre de la mentira. 45.Pero a mí, como os digo la verdad, no me creéis. 46.¿Quién de vosotros puede probar que soy pecador? Si digo la verdad, ¿por qué no me creéis? 47.El que es de Dios, escucha las palabras de Dios; vosotros no las escucháis, porque no sois de Dios.» 48.Los judíos le respondieron: «¿No decimos, con razón, que eres samaritano y que tienes un demonio?» 49.Respondió Jesús: «Yo no tengo un demonio; sino que honro a mi Padre, y vosotros me deshonráis a mí. 50.Pero yo no busco mi gloria; ya hay quien la busca y juzga. 51.En verdad, en verdad os digo: si alguno guarda mi Palabra, no verá la muerte jamás.» 52.Le dijeron los judíos: «Ahora estamos seguros de que tienes un demonio. Abraham murió, y también los profetas; y tú dices: "Si alguno guarda mi Palabra, no probará la muerte jamás." 53.¿Eres tú acaso más grande que nuestro padre Abraham, que murió? También los profetas murieron. ¿Por quién te tienes a ti mismo?» 54.Jesús respondió: «Si yo me glorificara a mí mismo, mi gloria no valdría nada; es mi Padre quien me glorifica, de quien vosotros decís: "El es nuestro Dios", 55.y sin embargo no le conocéis, yo sí que le conozco, y si dijera que no le conozco, sería un mentiroso como vosotros. Pero yo le conozco, y guardo su Palabra. 56.Vuestro padre Abraham se regocijó pensando en ver mi Día; lo vio y se alegró.» 57.Entonces los judíos le dijeron: «¿Aún no tienes cincuenta años y has visto a Abraham?» 58.Jesús les respondió: «En verdad, en verdad os digo: antes de que Abraham existiera, Yo Soy.» 59.Entonces tomaron piedras para tirárselas; pero Jesús se ocultó y salió del Templo."
